My
primary research focus has been in the area of statistical
techniques for computer vision, with application in biometrics/surveillance,
modeling, graphics, registration and object recognition. The
research program I want to establish in the future will build
on this. I plan to continue the exploration of non-parametrical
statistical techniques and functional data analysis in the
areas of biometrics/surveillance and medical image analysis.
I am also interested in the area of bioinformatics, where
many of the statistical techniques I have investigated can
be applied to solve pattern recognition problems inherent
in this domain. I aim to make scholarly contribution by publishing
in premier quality journals and conferences; and by organizing
workshops and conferences focused in these areas.
