Senior
Algorithm Scientist, AuthenTec Inc., Melbourne, Florida |

AuthenTec,
a spinoff of Harris Corporation, is presently the leading fingerprint
sensor company. My research focus has been on designing indexing
algorithms using non parametric functional estimation techniques
and multimodal biometrics solutions for uniquely small sensors.
Several US Patents will be filed in the near future.
Outside
my work at AuthenTec, I have continued to perform research work
with my past colleagues, in the areas of 4D data compression [2,
19], augmented reality [15], face analysis [18] and independent
component analysis [16].

To: Dr. Rajeev Sharma, CEO, Advanced Interfaces; (co-affiliation)
Associate Prof., CSE Department, Penn State University.
I was
primarily responsible for winning research grants [RG4,RG5] which
was vital for AI's research program, jointly held with the Computer
Science department of Penn State. Also, my research focus there
was mainly in human computer interaction [3], surveillance, face
analysis and classification.

Reported
to: Prof. Ashraf Kassim, Deputy Head (Academic), ECE Department,
NUS.
My primary
research focus at the NUS, a premier research university in the
Asia-Pacific region, was in the area of 3D image analysis [5,6,10],
application of non parametric statistics in structure from motion
[4], face image analysis for posture as well as emotion classification
[7,8]., and multimodal signal analysis [9].
Research
grants won were mainly geared towards 3D image analysis for realizing
virtual and augmented reality environments [RG1,RG2], and multi-modal
image analysis [RG3].

Advisor:
Prof. Kim L. Boyer
My
research focus here was mainly on object recognition using large
modelbases. I investigated information theoretic dissimilarity measures
for modelbase clustering, and developed a framework for fast indexing
and search [1,13,14, 38] .
I also
investigated the problem of registration of disparate datasets (namely,
aerial imagery and digital elevation maps) [39].
